Welcome to Simply Create Too's June 171 Challenge - Any Shaped Card (not square or rectangle). I love shaped cards. I love making layered mandala cards. I love using my Cricut. For the cards below I used a wonderful SVG design by <a href="https://designbundles.net/okadee-svg" target="_blank">Okadee Designs. </a> I made both a right and left version of the cards just for fun. Okadee carries a huge variety of designs, plus sells special bundled prices. I created a back piece to make these into cards, I also glue each layer on top of each other vs adding more dimension use foam dots. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7YQD_k1pkrN5FcGBeETPJHGhLin43d0EKN-_Hs7GX8tuNnJ5m6TdyaLizvMe8Mohoh3-exohyphenhyphenHr62a-meY4yNgNYA2TU0LTqPMkkE3Go_Ksz5Z_0DlWY2Y86W1VacdWVVZUKQB9Z8zLjU/s2048/Easter+Chicks.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1303" data-original-width="2048" height="255" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7YQD_k1pkrN5FcGBeETPJHGhLin43d0EKN-_Hs7GX8tuNnJ5m6TdyaLizvMe8Mohoh3-exohyphenhyphenHr62a-meY4yNgNYA2TU0LTqPMkkE3Go_Ksz5Z_0DlWY2Y86W1VacdWVVZUKQB9Z8zLjU/w400-h255/Easter+Chicks.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKhKZQA8Y3kc3x6tkwrZo0e5ntDTX3_tbJR6rt0L7Uo82i17pk2E2YzTrhLdXCT5CnJ-T9z_LTwWJfCXlVLHkVXjGaqF3__R1XI5ky2j3-ImzygBcB2-khx-f9yqTP4y4wRnDZtg2q7FLz/s2048/easter+ducks.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1572" data-original-width="2048" height="308" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKhKZQA8Y3kc3x6tkwrZo0e5ntDTX3_tbJR6rt0L7Uo82i17pk2E2YzTrhLdXCT5CnJ-T9z_LTwWJfCXlVLHkVXjGaqF3__R1XI5ky2j3-ImzygBcB2-khx-f9yqTP4y4wRnDZtg2q7FLz/w400-h308/easter+ducks.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">Please join us Each Month!</p>sweet art designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07159306725662307010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3951205655484025573.post-13689397368623408662021-03-01T00:00:00.001-05:002021-03-01T00:00:04.317-05:00Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper March 2021 Challenge<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6d_uwRuyvw-tQi8pq6PThEZp-ee4XS6PsF1e_8D1lUYZtHtoV4teELMFhfBLaMR8M0mLmdguyrAOHPqyy0hMxTcBsGe8b0KLKhK0PU9D5qSo7m7N9zrDeztR1bf4iP4EPn-R_mOJEBF8/s1600/DT+badge.png" style="background-color: #c0a154; color: #ff9900; font-family: arial, tahoma, helvetica, freesans, sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6d_uwRuyvw-tQi8pq6PThEZp-ee4XS6PsF1e_8D1lUYZtHtoV4teELMFhfBLaMR8M0mLmdguyrAOHPqyy0hMxTcBsGe8b0KLKhK0PU9D5qSo7m7N9zrDeztR1bf4iP4EPn-R_mOJEBF8/w320-h213/DT+badge.png" style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 1px solid rgb(238, 238, 238); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; padding: 5px; position: relative;" width="320" /></a></p><p style="text-align: center;">Every month <a href="http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge</a> is an open papercraft challenge that encourages you to use patterned paper. Because it is March, I thought I would make up a fun St. Paddy's Day Card. I selected the adorable 3D "Irish Terrier" and "Leprechaun" added a back as to make it into a card. Nothing says Irish, like an Irish Terrier and a classic Leprechaun! </p><p style="text-align: center;">My brother's first dog was a little red terrier that we called, "Terry" (I know very original) or as my Dad said - Terry the Terrible Terrier. We lived in Vancouver where it rains almost daily, and Terry hated the rain. I remember Mom having to hold an umbrella over the dog to get her to go outside to do her business! </p><p style="text-align: center;">Using my Cricut, I made 2 versions of each card using both solid coloured and pattern paper. I also added a back as to make it into a card. The SVG file is from Okadee SVGs called 3D St. Patrick's Characters Bundle. It comes with 5 designs, a terrier, 2 different leprechauns, unicorn, and a bunny. There are 6 layers and I made them to fit inside a 5 x 7 card. You can certainly added 3D foam between the layers, but as I was using them as cards I glued each layer on top of each other.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF3gRh8Lirmdvxsp-vUScks9LmeE0oN9tERGKrWFAYyCWz-fQQI8X9SeerQCQbDWHBBqAV1CIiwvlkqMb2UD9Kw1qn-iFX2k__gaudUsRafBx3VpdteL3H-ee2os67o2mnlvsVYD1gGefb/s2048/irish+terrier.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1419" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF3gRh8Lirmdvxsp-vUScks9LmeE0oN9tERGKrWFAYyCWz-fQQI8X9SeerQCQbDWHBBqAV1CIiwvlkqMb2UD9Kw1qn-iFX2k__gaudUsRafBx3VpdteL3H-ee2os67o2mnlvsVYD1gGefb/w278-h400/irish+terrier.jpg" width="278" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGnxtsTb2-DZ8oQIGyNzeK_xBvVWrR81G8vcEZld5-0LPFzoV_5ef9slcM2CM6JZkGQIILIoGQwzwVY4f1OlA5-74ScUTG5tBf-CKHHZFsXYr7rfGoLnXja9i_6SArcyq_coh09r86rYm_/s2048/irish+pair+2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1864" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGnxtsTb2-DZ8oQIGyNzeK_xBvVWrR81G8vcEZld5-0LPFzoV_5ef9slcM2CM6JZkGQIILIoGQwzwVY4f1OlA5-74ScUTG5tBf-CKHHZFsXYr7rfGoLnXja9i_6SArcyq_coh09r86rYm_/s320/irish+pair+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy5T_0Em0htZbQaglJvgps1_F5f8teTaHVCL1Sykj9uKwYmo8_9AgKvYLF-MI7jw_GrT1seD6sfIHBg4vLNlxL8rgSxr9LBlefsbYzTNJbpeCtGgTOuo2p76XA8s44PYgSKQ-Kgs9UKzjz/s2048/irish+pair+3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1997" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy5T_0Em0htZbQaglJvgps1_F5f8teTaHVCL1Sykj9uKwYmo8_9AgKvYLF-MI7jw_GrT1seD6sfIHBg4vLNlxL8rgSxr9LBlefsbYzTNJbpeCtGgTOuo2p76XA8s44PYgSKQ-Kgs9UKzjz/s320/irish+pair+3.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyeWQR7LYvRzia6Cc77nqe2ebDU_deWrrfrUS4lBlxHaDVDZ8MSAQUKKcIiSMmD201e4k2gUFc5bqKqq1jPIvrRa0vKce7KmDMtLFG8yOjeitLh5my6uc2fs4euNOi6IZu86jcFV0UKkou/s2048/irish+1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1830" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyeWQR7LYvRzia6Cc77nqe2ebDU_deWrrfrUS4lBlxHaDVDZ8MSAQUKKcIiSMmD201e4k2gUFc5bqKqq1jPIvrRa0vKce7KmDMtLFG8yOjeitLh5my6uc2fs4euNOi6IZu86jcFV0UKkou/w358-h400/irish+1.jpg" width="358" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAP1S0x98ibHEsYT0YvdLjj2x2-kY03f7WmKZQsCXsJxLzaUzyI92sP992a1SbW2rMh9Rfnp5BpLq7Lxv8EHI8rwKkRVxwMyApZiGLfMG5cgQmF5zOwS0NJVJOhTmvnj0d-T6uj1bFo0JD/s2048/irish+pair.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1550" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAP1S0x98ibHEsYT0YvdLjj2x2-kY03f7WmKZQsCXsJxLzaUzyI92sP992a1SbW2rMh9Rfnp5BpLq7Lxv8EHI8rwKkRVxwMyApZiGLfMG5cgQmF5zOwS0NJVJOhTmvnj0d-T6uj1bFo0JD/s320/irish+pair.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Join us monthly!</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>sweet art designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07159306725662307010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3951205655484025573.post-73885406951167777622021-02-04T13:18:00.000-05:002021-02-04T13:31:50.119-05:00Simply Create Too - Challenge 167 - Use Heart(s)<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKAV4GMt4SRPNEgi53gbv37A8R4dGhlTRTTrjARooqHzgq0eNumJ3NjEELbyUK6NUUxBh3K6ShwTsFFmu3MByx-dQO28FzcjO4jlQX1WP8QZv2DzjqSADs-Z9ddA7XAhF5pxJi-GvSKwLq/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="800" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKAV4GMt4SRPNEgi53gbv37A8R4dGhlTRTTrjARooqHzgq0eNumJ3NjEELbyUK6NUUxBh3K6ShwTsFFmu3MByx-dQO28FzcjO4jlQX1WP8QZv2DzjqSADs-Z9ddA7XAhF5pxJi-GvSKwLq/" width="320" /></a> </p><p style="text-align: center;">For this month the <a href="http://simplycreatetoo.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Simply Create Too Design</a> Team is looking for use of a heart or hearts. For my card for February I picked a fun Valentine's theme. I made up Valentine cards for my grand daughter. I used a SVG file cut from Craft Genesis. It is a very simply design - no gluing required. I used patterns paper for either the backing or top layered butterfly. Both sides have a double slot and you simply insert the lollipop. I added a Happy Valentine's Stamp to the back and will add a tag with each child's name. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaQWBYWgn4Nue77rSZIocMtT1PmAs3F2RNOUwiDu6ipnPbAy5Och35MI7eC7VHcN2Sw96EUB6-Em2h3Q0vHbLA3F9zC3rt04wVUDhV5HrQ0vOuSyfPE0KOw23WpJZ194mqQOpK4IlYTEBr/s2048/butterfly+sucker+1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1678" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaQWBYWgn4Nue77rSZIocMtT1PmAs3F2RNOUwiDu6ipnPbAy5Och35MI7eC7VHcN2Sw96EUB6-Em2h3Q0vHbLA3F9zC3rt04wVUDhV5HrQ0vOuSyfPE0KOw23WpJZ194mqQOpK4IlYTEBr/w328-h400/butterfly+sucker+1.jpg" width="328" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">Please join us at <a href="http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge</a> each month and let's find fun uses for your patterned paper stash.</p>sweet art designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07159306725662307010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3951205655484025573.post-29965067694689354922021-01-01T20:00:00.002-05:002021-05-17T00:22:39.568-04:00Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper January 2021 challenge<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6d_uwRuyvw-tQi8pq6PThEZp-ee4XS6PsF1e_8D1lUYZtHtoV4teELMFhfBLaMR8M0mLmdguyrAOHPqyy0hMxTcBsGe8b0KLKhK0PU9D5qSo7m7N9zrDeztR1bf4iP4EPn-R_mOJEBF8/s1600/DT+badge.png" style="color: #ff9900; font-family: arial, tahoma, helvetica, freesans, sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6d_uwRuyvw-tQi8pq6PThEZp-ee4XS6PsF1e_8D1lUYZtHtoV4teELMFhfBLaMR8M0mLmdguyrAOHPqyy0hMxTcBsGe8b0KLKhK0PU9D5qSo7m7N9zrDeztR1bf4iP4EPn-R_mOJEBF8/w320-h213/DT+badge.png" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 1px solid rgb(238, 238, 238); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; padding: 5px; position: relative;" width="320" /></a> </p><p style="text-align: center;">This is a new year, and while our governments are doing their best to get everyone a vaccination for the Covid19 virus we must still be careful. Wear a Mask, Wash your Hands, Social Distance. As a friendly reminder for friends and family, I created two cards. One show a Doctor (from Circuit's, Teddy Bears on Parade) wearing his mask, an the second a Covid19 virus with a mask (A SVG file I purchased on Etsy) The latter image I created two copies: one using an ugly patterned paper from my stash, and one using white cardstock for the card's back. I made stitch marks around the masks using a fine black marker. The best thing about this card is that you can utilize some of that ugly patterned paper you have around! For December's Challenge, I had to make a Christmas Card and say "Merry Christmas" to everyone. I used 4 different patterned papers for this challenge - snow, evening sky, scarf, and nose. The background paper had some beautiful silver stars and a crescent moon, but the metallic paper doesn't photograph well for me. I used my Cricut and an SVG file from My Scrap Chick called. "Snowman's Wonderland." The papers are all from my stash aka Hoard.<br />

I have had this SVG file called <a href="https://www.3dsvg.com/shop/birthday-svg-files/elegant-evening-bags-svg-bundle/">Elegant Evening Bags</a> by <a href="https://www.3dsvg.com/">Dreaming Tree</a> for some time and finally decided to make it for this month's <a href="http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.com/">Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge</a>, This particular bag is called, "Gold Purse." You can purchase the files separately or as part of a design bundle. I always chose the bundle. It includes 2 more elegant bags. I used my Cricut Explore Air to cut this file out. Leo from Dreaming Tree always includes an assembly video which makes to whole project easy to make. I chose Christmas patterned paper to make the purse. Dreaming Tree also included a free "Change Purse" SVG file that I also made in the same papers. The large purse has a magnetic opener so you can add a small present inside. The change purse includes slots so you can attach a gift card. I added a few gems to make it extra special!<br />

I picked Hot Chocolate and warm Hugs (see inside sentiment). I found this cute SVG file on <a href="https://myscrapchick.com/?s=cocoa" target="_blank">My Scrap Chick's</a> website store. It is called, MARSHMALLOW MARSHAL* COCOA CUP. *There is also a girl version of the card called Marsha. I used my own sentiments created by computer to better suit the theme. This card has a put out but I added a card stand (older Sizzix BigZ die) to the back of the cup so it would stand on it's own. This week, <a href="https://designbundles.net/" target="_blank">Design Bundles</a> had a free download called, <a href="https://designbundles.net/free-design-resources/graphics/merry-christmas-seamless-patterns-new-year-digital" target="_blank">Merry Christmas seamless patterns. New Year digital paper. </a> Because I wanted the pattern to be smaller than the download, using CorelDraw software I was able to copy the pattern 4 times, paste together and print a 6" x 6" version using my HP inkjet printer. The snowman, stamp and die, is called Snowy from Penny Black. This, hands down is my favourite Christmas stamp. The sentiment is also by Penny Black. The card stock strip is from my stash.
