This is a new year, and while our governments are doing their best to get everyone a vaccination for the Covid19 virus we must still be careful. Wear a Mask, Wash your Hands, Social Distance. As a friendly reminder for friends and family, I created two cards. One show a Doctor (from Circuit's, Teddy Bears on Parade) wearing his mask, an the second a Covid19 virus with a mask (A SVG file I purchased on Etsy) The latter image I created two copies: one using an ugly patterned paper from my stash, and one using white cardstock for the card's back. I made stitch marks around the masks using a fine black marker. The best thing about this card is that you can utilize some of that ugly patterned paper you have around! This week at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge, we are looking for something with Christmas or New Year theme. For this challenge I made a 3D Santa Mandala by Okadee SVG.Design Bundles. There are 14 layers to this card, but it turned out beautifully. I used various shades of gray-black, pink-dark red, yellow and white cardstock.

This week at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 519, we are looking for a quick and easy cards. I used a simple SVG from My Scrap Chick, called Penguin Box. I modified the SVG to simply make a back for the penguin and made it into a folded card vs a box. From start to finish this card took less than 15 minutes. The longest part of the project with the actual cutting. I used scraps of cardstock from my stash. I have had my problems with "white" pens. I have tried them all. They work the day I buy them, and the next time I try...nothing! I purchased some Acrylic Paint Pens by Artistro and I think I may have my new go to white pen (for adding details to eyes, etc.

Another year is coming to a close at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge. For December's Challenge, I had to make a Christmas Card and say "Merry Christmas" to everyone. I used 4 different patterned papers for this challenge - snow, evening sky, scarf, and nose. The background paper had some beautiful silver stars and a crescent moon, but the metallic paper doesn't photograph well for me. I used my Cricut and an SVG file from My Scrap Chick called. "Snowman's Wonderland." The papers are all from my stash aka Hoard.

This week at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge we are looking for things with wings. This beautiful angel is from Special Heart Creations as a part of their Holiday Maker Fest. There are 6 layers to the angel and it is simply beautiful. I cut layer 1 twice so I can make it into a card. The fun glitter paper is from Cricut and cuts like butter with my Cricut Explore Air. I added a few gem just for that added touch. Note: in the original SVG design, she made it as a tree top decoration!
