Click here to go to challenge blog
Gosh, Christmas and Valentine’s Day just passed, and Mother’s Day and Easter are fast approaching! Our challenge this week is the create a Mother’s Day Card. I decided to dust off my Cricut machine and using a fabulous Cascade Card design from Dreaming Tree, I created a Mother’s Day card. This card design would also be lovely for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, and more. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps.

CHNC blog button DT

52 Christmas Card Throwdown – technique/stash – Recycling 52CCT8-19

Each month a member of the 52CCC Design Team chooses the challenges for the month. This month Allison chose the challenges. Her pick this month was Recycling. I had a piece of Christmas paper in my stash that I thought I could add my own twist to. Where the paper actually had a few poinsettias, I used an older Spellbinder Poinsettias Die and cut out the flowers from some old red and green envelopes I had in my stash. For the flower centres, I used some half pearls from an old card that I had kicking around. The sentiment was from SSS.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown – 52CCT7-19 – Theme – Winter Trees

Allison from the 52CCC Design Team has chosen Winter Trees as the Theme Challenge this month. I used a new stamp from Penny Black called, Snowy Village 40-558. I started by stamping the image using MFT Black ink. Next, I coloured the building with Copic markers. Using blue toned Oxide Distress Inks I sponged the background. For the finishing touch, I flicked water droplets over the image to produce the oxide effect.

Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge 425 – use some green

For Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge we are looking for some Green! I made a very quick and simple card using some paper and embellishment I had sitting on my desk. I started with a piece of paper that was shy of A2 card front. It measured 5.5 x 3.75. So I got inventive. I cut down my card base to fit, then found 4 Christmas balls and a round sentiment by Kaisercraft. The top ball I let hang over the top edge. (It fits perfectly in an A2 envelop)

CHNC blog button DT
The Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge this week is something cute. One of my favourite Bugaboo Stamps is Window Santa (it is unfortunately retired, but if enough people ask for it back….) I coloured him with Copic markers and added his to my card front on layered papers and stickers from my stash.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown – 52CCT6-19 – Colours – Green and Silver

This week’s challenge at 52CCC is a Colour Challenge. We are looking for a card with Green and Silver. Crafting friends of mine have started their own Canadian Crafting Company. Currently, their own uniquely designed dies are limited editions and are sold to friends and family only. I purchased a number of their dies and they are all fabulous. This one is simply called Celtic Christmas Tree. Note: The die is a wonderful large die fitting perfect on my A2 card.

I had a digital stamp called, Summer Holidays by Dr Digi in my stash so I used it and paper from my stash is create a quick travel card for friends leaving for the South. I like to colour while watching TV and often colour numerous images in advance. For this image, I had used my Copic markers and luckily used all the colours from this week’s challenge.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown – CCT5-19 – Sketch

This week, Allison from our Design Team, drew up this Sketch, as the inspiration for your card. It is a very simple design that you can make anywhere from CAS to Complex. I opted for the CAS. I have a number of images that I have stamped and coloured with Copics while watching TV, so I grabbed a line of snowmen, and a line of fancy dotted cardstock and created my card. The sentiment is from MFT and the digi stamp is called, 3 snowmen blocks by Silly Dilly Beans Stamps (retired).
