Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge November 2020

I have had this SVG file called Elegant Evening Bags  by Dreaming Tree for some time and finally decided to make it for this month's Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge, This particular bag is called, "Gold Purse." You can purchase the files separately or as part of a design bundle. I always chose the bundle. It includes 2 more elegant bags. I used my Cricut Explore Air to cut this file out. Leo from Dreaming Tree always includes an assembly video which makes to whole project easy to make. I chose Christmas patterned paper to make the purse. Dreaming Tree also included a free "Change Purse" SVG file that I also made in the same papers. The large purse has a magnetic opener so you can add a small present inside. The change purse includes slots so you can attach a gift card. I added a few gems to make it extra special!

For this week's Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge the Design Team is looking for a card suitable for a lady or girl. I chose to use another card from Dreaming Tree's, The Magic of Christmas SVG Bundle - Lantern Shadow Box. This is such a pretty design with the poinsettia I thought it matched the challenge. I used my Cricut and card stock from my stash.

I always purchase the bundle! It is called, It's Cold Outside. The Dreaming Tree team always post a full video on the assembly, plus PDF files. *Note the sentiment is not included! You can use your own stamps or dies or print something us yourselves. I used my Cricut Explore Air to cut out all the pieces, added distress ink to the paper edges, and pompom to the penguin hats.

Simply Create Too Challenge 161 - All Summer Long

Nothing says summer than a weekend Bar-B-Q! The Design Team at Simply Create Too is looking for a project with All Summer Long as the theme. I made two cards, a cheeseburger and a beer - two summer staples! They are both from Dreaming Tree's SVG bundle, "Grillin and Chillin." I made both cards using my Cricut Explore Air. Dreaming Tree sells each card SVG file separately or as a bundle that includes a super cool barbeque box. I inked the cardstock edges with Distress Ink and added an embossed pattern to the beer foam! The sentiment on the burger card is from Hero Arts. The cards have the option to be either a Happy Father's Day card or plain. I chose the latter.

Simple Create Too has a new challenge every month. Join the fun!

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge May 2020

For this month I am thinking spring at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge. I am using a new SVG project called Garden Tote (1 of  3 pieces from The Dreaming Tree's Garden Goodies). I made the tote using patterned papers from my stash and inked the edges with Distress Inks. I am holding a "Garden Party Bar-B-Q" in the spring for a dear friend and we are all going to set up her garden for Spring/Summer flowers. With the tote, we have included a pair of garden gloves and seeds. We also got her a perfect garden chair to join the outdoors in. I used my Cricut Explore Air to cut the SVG files.

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge March 2020

This challenge runs for the month of March. The Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge Design Team is looking for a card or project that uses Patterned Papers. I tend to buy all kinds of patterned papers and hoard them. This challenge makes me look through my stash and come up with ways to use them. For this challenge, I purchased one of the latest SVG designs from Dreaming Tree called, "Le Chapeau Bundle". The bundle includes 3 hatted ladies plus a free lady tag. They are gorgeous. I started with one but will make all 4 by the end of the month. If you want to see them refer back to my blog. I used patterned papers for the har, flower, palm trees, and hair. Because there was enough pattern to the hair I added extra colours with Copic markers. I made the SVG with my Cricut Explore Air.

This is my second card fromthe bundle called Juliette

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge February 2020

Let's Flamingo! This month at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge I created a version of Dreaming Tree's Tropical Vibes Flamingo Card. I used Valentine's cardstock from my stash. I had fun with these cards and made versions of them for every occasion.

A few months ago, Dreaming Tree introduced a new bundle called, Tropical Vibes. As a special gift to its customers, they included a free SVG Flamingo Card. This card is so adorable. I own a Cricut Explore Air and DT SVG files are simple to download into Cricut Design Studio. All the modifications I made to the original DT files were from Cricut Access.

While I was out shopping at HomeSense (Canadian version of Home Goods) I found these adorable flamingo dish towels, I had to have them. They got me thinking...what about making a pumpkin flamingo card.

Well, it turned out so cute that I decided to try a birthday card, then a Valentine's Day card, then a St. Patrick's Day card!

Then I thought Easter, July 1-Canada Day (complete with a Mounties' Hat),                    July 4-Independent's Day

Now, I have created a monster....a Summer flamingo card, a 3D Flower flamingo card, and a Christmas Flamingo card.

Now the piece de resistance a Wedding Card

For mailing, I used a tri-fold. Shown how it was folded.

All the above cards are just the beginning. You could make a graduation flamingo card, unicorn flamingo, Silver or Gold anniversary flamingo cards, thank you, baby, get well soon...the options are endless.
To even take things further - look at your existing stamps, die cuts and SVG files, and think how you could modify them to make numerous card variations.  It only takes a little imagination. It is time to challenge yourself. Pull out your crafting supplies and go for it!

I hope you liked my cards! Check out Dreaming Tree. I have owned my Cricut for 4 years and only really started to look at the things I can make with it. Check out Dreaming Tree website and I strongly suggest that you join their facebook group. I also joined numerous paper crafting facebook groups and love sharing and seeing what other crafting artists are doing! Also, look at the challenge groups. I personally have been a Design team member on a number of different challenge groups.
