December Cards 2016

I took the puppies up to the Mall last night to get their photo taken with Santa. All in all, it was pretty good, but Taylor decided to poop on the floor minutes after we arrived. I had had them outside for 30 minutes prior to leaving! Thank goodness for doggy bags!

130 Christmas Cards for Seniors!

Every year I make 130 Christmas cards for the Belmont Long Term Care Home. It is my way of paying it forward for the fabulous care they provided my mother. I love to colour while watch TV so I will stamp numerous images and hand colour them with Copic Markers, Zig Water Colour Brushes, Derwent Inktenses Pencils, or Distress inks. Once I get a number completed, I then sit down and start to assemble my cards. No two cards are the same, While I may use the same image, I colour them differently, use a different card format, different card stock, etc. I also make Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween, Easter/Spring, Valentine’s Day, Remembrance Day (for the veterans), plus birthday cards. It keeps me busy, and I really enjoy it. I also make cards for myself and friends. I dropped the cards off for distribution on December 1, 2016.

My Christmas Card Exchange Group 2016 – Darlene DeVries’ – Live. Love, Cards

I have been a member of Darlene DeVries’ – Live. Love, Cards -Tutorial Blog since she started. Her teaching blog is only $2.50 per month or $27.00 per year. This is truly a great value. I think she has one of the top 5 card making sites on the internet.

This year she hosted a Christmas Card Challenge. There are 9 Crafty ladies in the group so I decided to make Christmas Cards featuring Julie Nutting’s Prima Dolls. Last year, after Christmas, I scored a wonderful store brand set from Shoppers Drug Mart for 90% off. At the time I thought they would make a perfect background for the Prima Doll Stamps. If you are new to my blog you will notice that I try to always change up my cards so I made a different doll card for each person in the group.
I stamped the dolls on Julie Nutting’s Prima Doll paper. I coloured each doll with Copic markers and paper pieced the outfits. I used various Christmas papers from my stash. I also made a card using Priscilla but I didn’t photograph it.
