Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge March 2020

This challenge runs for the month of March. The Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge Design Team is looking for a card or project that uses Patterned Papers. I tend to buy all kinds of patterned papers and hoard them. This challenge makes me look through my stash and come up with ways to use them. For this challenge, I purchased one of the latest SVG designs from Dreaming Tree called, "Le Chapeau Bundle". The bundle includes 3 hatted ladies plus a free lady tag. They are gorgeous. I started with one but will make all 4 by the end of the month. If you want to see them refer back to my blog. I used patterned papers for the har, flower, palm trees, and hair. Because there was enough pattern to the hair I added extra colours with Copic markers. I made the SVG with my Cricut Explore Air.

This is my second card fromthe bundle called Juliette

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 479 - Vintage or Shabby Chic

The Design Team at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Card Challenge is looking for a card with a shabby chic or vintage feel. For this Challenge, I used vintage-inspired cardstock from Michael's Reflections series. I added glitter to his beard and fur trim for that vintage feel. I also distressed the edges of the Santa figure

A new challenge every Saturday

For this week's Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge, the theme is Quick and Easy. I used some patterned Christmas paper as my background and added the Spellbinders S4-1012 Joy Die. I cut the die out twice, once in red and once in gold and layered them. I then glued the front onto a card base.  The whole process took less than 10 minutes.

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge February 2020

Let's Flamingo! This month at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge I created a version of Dreaming Tree's Tropical Vibes Flamingo Card. I used Valentine's cardstock from my stash. I had fun with these cards and made versions of them for every occasion.

A few months ago, Dreaming Tree introduced a new bundle called, Tropical Vibes. As a special gift to its customers, they included a free SVG Flamingo Card. This card is so adorable. I own a Cricut Explore Air and DT SVG files are simple to download into Cricut Design Studio. All the modifications I made to the original DT files were from Cricut Access.

While I was out shopping at HomeSense (Canadian version of Home Goods) I found these adorable flamingo dish towels, I had to have them. They got me thinking...what about making a pumpkin flamingo card.

Well, it turned out so cute that I decided to try a birthday card, then a Valentine's Day card, then a St. Patrick's Day card!

Then I thought Easter, July 1-Canada Day (complete with a Mounties' Hat),                    July 4-Independent's Day

Now, I have created a monster....a Summer flamingo card, a 3D Flower flamingo card, and a Christmas Flamingo card.

Now the piece de resistance a Wedding Card

For mailing, I used a tri-fold. Shown how it was folded.

All the above cards are just the beginning. You could make a graduation flamingo card, unicorn flamingo, Silver or Gold anniversary flamingo cards, thank you, baby, get well soon...the options are endless.
To even take things further - look at your existing stamps, die cuts and SVG files, and think how you could modify them to make numerous card variations.  It only takes a little imagination. It is time to challenge yourself. Pull out your crafting supplies and go for it!

I hope you liked my cards! Check out Dreaming Tree. I have owned my Cricut for 4 years and only really started to look at the things I can make with it. Check out Dreaming Tree website and I strongly suggest that you join their facebook group. I also joined numerous paper crafting facebook groups and love sharing and seeing what other crafting artists are doing! Also, look at the challenge groups. I personally have been a Design team member on a number of different challenge groups.
